Synchronization and updates
Synchronization ensures your documentation stays aligned with your source code. The frequency and control over these updates vary by plan.
Automated schedules
- Free Tier: Your documentation automatically refreshes once per month. You can configure the specific day of the month and the local time for this update in your settings.
- Paid Tier: You can choose between Daily, Weekly, or Monthly automated updates. Weekly updates allow you to select a specific day of the week, while Monthly updates allow you to select a specific day of the month.
Manual refresh
Paid users can trigger a manual synchronization at any time from the repository dashboard. This is useful for publishing urgent documentation changes immediately after a code push. Manual syncs are subject to a daily limit of 500 requests per repository.
Project management limits
Every project in DocuBot is governed by specific management constraints to ensure unique routing and proper source analysis.
- URL slug reservations: Every documentation site requires a unique URL slug (e.g.,
docubot.cc/your-product). Slugs are reserved on a first-come, first-served basis and must follow standard URL formatting (lowercase letters, numbers, and dashes). - Multi-source support: Both tiers allow you to connect multiple GitHub repositories to a single documentation project. This enables you to consolidate documentation for a primary UI, secondary apps, and API references into one cohesive help center.
- Private repository access: Accessing private repositories requires GitHub OAuth authorization regardless of your account tier.
Core documentation features
The following features are standard for all DocuBot projects and are included in every plan:
- AI-powered analysis: DocuBot uses Gemini models to analyze your code and generate structured content tailored to your selected audiences.
- Interactive API viewing: Any OpenAPI or Swagger specifications found in your repositories are automatically rendered into interactive reference pages using the Scalar viewer.
- Style customization: You can choose from several documentation styles, such as “DocuBot Default,” “Precision Technical,” or “Approachable Guided,” to control the voice and tone of your output.
- Portable exports: Every documentation site generates a bookmarked PDF export that you can download for offline use or internal distribution.
