Limits and quotas

DocuBot maintains specific operational boundaries to ensure performance and reliability across all documentation projects. Review these limits to understand how they affect your account and synchronization frequency.

Account and project limits

Your account type determines the number of projects you can manage and the availability of specific features.

FeatureFree accountPaid account
Tracked repositories1 repositoryMultiple repositories
URL slugsGlobally uniqueGlobally unique
Manual synchronizationNot availableUp to 500 per day

Every documentation site requires a unique URL slug. Once you claim a slug, it remains reserved for your project until the repository is deleted.

Synchronization limits

Synchronization limits control how often DocuBot refreshes your documentation from your GitHub sources.

  • Automated frequency: Free accounts are limited to one automated synchronization per month. Paid accounts unlock weekly and daily schedules.
  • Scheduling window: Scheduled updates occur within a 15-minute window of your configured local time.
  • Manual sync cap: During the current period, manual sync requests are capped at 500 per day per repository to accommodate high-frequency updates during initial setup.
  • Active jobs: Only one synchronization job can run for a specific repository at a time. New requests are queued if a job is already in progress.

Content and generation limits

DocuBot uses advanced AI to analyze your code. These technical boundaries ensure the analysis remains accurate and within processing capabilities.

  • Analysis budget: The system utilizes a token budget of approximately 900,000 tokens per repository. If your repository exceeds this size, DocuBot automatically segments the code for processing.
  • OpenAPI detection: DocuBot scans for API specifications and renders the first 50 valid OpenAPI or Swagger documents found in your source files.
  • File size: Individual OpenAPI specification files should not exceed 20MB for reliable rendering.

Mitigation and workarounds

If you reach a limit or have a large repository that exceeds the analysis budget, use these methods to manage your project scope.

Use ignore patterns

You can exclude large, non-essential directories—such as third-party libraries, build artifacts, or vendored code—using ignore patterns in your repository settings. This reduces the token count and ensures the AI focuses on your primary source code.

Upgrade your account

Upgrading to a paid account removes the single-repository restriction and allows for daily or weekly synchronization schedules.
