Version 1.0.378 Overview

This release marks a major milestone for APSense, introducing full feature parity between the mobile and web platforms. We have transitioned to a high-performance hybrid architecture that ensures your data loads instantly, even with thousands of expenses. This update focuses on expanding your capture options with the new Email-to-Expense workflow and significantly increasing the accuracy of our Cortexa AI extraction engine.

New Features

Full Web Dashboard

The web application now offers the same powerful features as the mobile app. You can manage workspaces, review AI extractions, and build complex reports from any desktop browser. The interface is optimized for larger screens, providing a “Command Center” view of your business spending.

Email-to-Expense Workflow

You can now create expenses without opening the app. Forward any digital receipt (PDF, JPG, or PNG) to expenses@apsense.app from your registered email address.

  • Automatic Extraction: Our cloud AI processes the attachment and extracts the vendor, amount, and date.
  • Smart Tagging: Include #workspace-name in the subject line to route the expense to a specific workspace, or @category to set the expense type automatically.
  • Instant Confirmation: You receive a confirmation email once the expense is ready for review in your account.

Personal Inbox Tokens

For enhanced security and automation, you can generate a unique personal inbox token in your settings. This allows you to route receipts from various sources directly to your APSense account with a dedicated, secure address.

AI and Mileage Improvements

Cortexa AI Multi-Strategy Extraction

We have upgraded the extraction engine to use a multi-strategy “voting” system. Instead of relying on a single scan, the AI analyzes receipts using multiple spatial and logical patterns.

  • Calculation Fallback: If the total amount is obscured, the AI automatically calculates it by summing the subtotal, tax, and gratuity.
  • Adaptive Learning: The system now learns from your manual corrections. If you fix a vendor name or category once, APSense remembers that preference for all future receipts from that merchant.

Smart GPS Mileage Filtering

Our mileage tracker now includes advanced signal filtering to ensure your logs are audit-ready.

  • Drift Rejection: The system ignores minor GPS “wobbles” that occur while you are stationary, preventing phantom mileage.
  • Speed Validation: Impossible jumps in location (such as those caused by signal interference in tunnels) are automatically rejected.
  • IRS 2025 Rates: The app is updated with the 2025 IRS standard mileage rate of $0.70 per mile.

User Experience and Interface Fixes

Layout and Navigation

  • Keyboard Handling: Fixed issues where the “Submit Report” and “New Report” modals would jump off-screen or cause layout overflows when the mobile keyboard appeared.
  • Hamburger Menu: Resolved a navigation error where selecting “Expenses” or “Reports” from the side drawer occasionally failed to switch the active tab.
  • Splash Screen: Updated the web and mobile loading screens to feature the new high-resolution APSense branding.

Workflow Refinements

  • Multi-Select Assignment: When you select multiple expenses to add to a report, the app now correctly prompts you to set a default report if one isn’t already active.
  • Default Report Logic: Clicking the “Star” icon to unset a default report no longer triggers a confirmation popup, streamlining your organization tasks.
  • Empty States: Fixed a “stuck loader” issue that occurred when deleting the final report in a workspace; the app now correctly displays the “No reports yet” guidance.

Security and Account Management

Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)

You can now enable SMS-based Multi-Factor Authentication for your account. This adds an extra layer of protection for your financial data, requiring a secure code sent to your phone during sign-in.

Streamlined Account Deletion

We have simplified the account management process. If you choose to delete your account, the system now performs a clean sign-out and immediately redirects you to the sign-in screen while securely purging your data from all platforms.

Reporting and Export Enhancements

Web Export Fixes

  • Spreadsheet Downloads: Fixed a web-only issue where the “Download CSV” button failed to trigger a file save. It now performs a standard browser download instead of attempting a mobile-style share action.
  • PDF Previews: You can now preview multi-page PDF receipts directly within the web dashboard without downloading them first.

Professional PDF Updates

  • Embedded Thumbnails: Exported PDF reports now include high-quality thumbnails of every attached receipt.
  • Category Breakdowns: Reports now feature visual charts and percentage breakdowns by category, making it easier for accounting teams to process reimbursements.
